The Jewish and Israeli Blog Award competition is happening as we speak, or write, as the case may be. It is hosted over at Israellycool.
I think this is a great idea, but the categories are quite broad, while good blogs are often very subject-specific. This is often what makes blogs different from more traditional media sources. So I have developed a few more specific categories for some of the blogs which I read regularly and think are great, but which may not fit perfectly into any of the award categories.
Jewish Academic Blogs:
My Obiter Dicta
Lerner's Jewish Bible Blog
On the Main Line
AJ History
Jewish Dating/ Singles Blogs:
Nice Jewish Girl
Chayyei Sarah
JDaters Anonymous
Jewish Blogs on Women's Issues:
In the Barren Season
Mayim Rabim
OrthoMom
Renegade Rebbetzin
Jewish Educational Blogs
Modern Jewish Issues Blog
Update: Orthomom struggles with same question about categories.
