Sheesh. That article was sad on so many levels. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
I have seen both my mother and my aunt take off lots of time to care for my grandparents. One uncle has helped, too, but the heaviest direct-care burden definitely fell on the daughters.

With the improvement in medical care and technology these stories are going to become more prevalent.
